I have been making those “croissants” for many, many years now. It is a very typical pastry for where I come from, and it’s a bit different from the french one.
I don’t know many people who can say no to them, wonder if you can resist them? :)

Ingredients:
- 500 g of flower
- 2 eggs + 1 to apply on top of ready “croissants”
- 250g of butter
- 50g of yeast
- 2 spoons of sugar
- 3 tablespoons of creme fraiche
- 30-40g of flaked almonds
- raspberry jam or marmalade
Recipe:
In a bowl, mix yeast with sugar and creme fraiche. Add flower, eggs and butter. Mix well. You can put it in the fridge for 20min, it will become a bit more “shortcrust-like” then. If you don’t have time you can proceed right away : )
Preheat the oven to 180C.
Roll out the dough, so that it forms a circle. Then cut it(pizza-like) in 6 or 8 triangles.
Put one teaspoon of marmalade on the thick end of the triangle and roll to the thin end.
It’s a good trick to apply some beaten egg on the edges of the triangles they will become more sticky.
When you have the croissants ready, apply a thin layer of bitten egg on top of each one of them and decorate with flaked almonds.
Bake until they get golden crispy(~15min).
Bon appetit!
Tip:
They taste best when they are still a bit warm!
