The dish was a total experiment induced by my unwillingness to go shopping this very rainy and gray day. Yesterday was the first time I made it and to be honest the chili, tuna & rucola turned out to be a great combination for my taste cups : )

A spicy dish, not requiring almost any salt because of the feta cheese and sweetened by cherry tomatoes.

Whole wheat pasta with tuna, feta & rucola

Ingredients:

  • 200g whole grain pasta
  • 1 can of tuna (I prefer Rio Mare in oil)
  • a bunch of rucola
  • 10 cherry tomatoes
  • 1 onion(small)
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 30g of feta cheese
  • 1 spoon of olive oil
  • pinch of chilli
  • salt&peper

The magic:

Boil pasta in salted water, so that it is al dente(It’s good to splash it with a bit of cold water after draining it off – it will stop the boiling process).

Heat up the oil on a frying pan(Medium heat) and add chopped onion. Fry for 2-3min. Add smashed garlic and chili. Chop cherry tomatoes and add to the pan. Fry again for 2-3min.

In the meantime clean and dry rucola, divide it into two bunches and put on plates.

Drain off the water or oil from your tuna – depending what kind you bought. Smash the tuna a little with a fork and add to the rest of the ingredients on the pan. The same with feta. Add pasta and mix everything together. Season with salt and pepper.

Add the ready pasta on top of rucola. Enjoy!

Tip:

It tastes great with some good olive oil spread on top and avocado from this recipe.
